Young Arthritis?

February 2nd, 2010 by akkakevin Leave a reply »

Hi, I’m 12 and wondered if it was possible that I’m developing premature arthritis. I never ever stop shaking. If I hold my hand out at any time it will be shaking like mad, I never feel cold or scared and my blood pressure is on the lower side for my age. I have very long, thin fingers they are size xxsmall but are so long that I have to wear men’s sized gloves. Now my ring fingers and little fingers are going looking really bendy and wonky. I wondered if this was arthritis and if it’s a problem. I hope it’s not ‘cos I love to write, play the flute and sew and if I did have arthritis that would mean I couldn’t do those things well wouldn’t it?

I don’t think what you’re describing are signs or arthritis….you might want to go to a doctor and get it checked out.
I obviously don’t know you, but what you’re describing sounds like it could be anxiety. Do you drink a lot of caffene?

All the modern buttons everywhere everywhere you look another button. RSI injury
When I grew up there were more knobs than buttons.
Well you guessed it as time went on I encountered more buttons & more hand pain.
Its the buttons that cause premature aging of the hands.

Premature Arthritis no such thing. Arthritis can start at any age. However I do not think you have Arthritis. I have and it started with a red hot swollen finger that looked like a sausage in a hot dog. I could not bend any of the joints and while my other fingers would bend, this one would not. In fact I reckon I could have fried an egg on this finger.
However if you are worried, I would ask someone to take you to the Doc.
Flute players are supposed to have really long bendy fingers!
